Character(s): Yui, Dio, Janrha
Setting: Niflheim's Library.
Content: Worksafe
Summary: One of the less obviously fitting decisions for a team wanders the Black Castle of the Deep only to discover the library and decide to take a break from exploration...for a bit, anyway.
Status: In Progress.
One lone figure traversed the halls harboring a small but hesitant hope. There didn't seem to be a map of the castle anywhere she'd seen yet; unfortunately the "shepherd" that had...
Her footsteps slowed to a stop and she held a breath, counting to ten. Exhale. The air was a little chilly in the hallway and that lended itself to gathering her thoughts and shoving them down before the fluttering, fretful flickers burst into the loud cacophony of distress that kept threatening to tear itself out.And beyond the birds, a beautiful figure with a cruel smile was waiting.
She had no idea who else might have arrived. From what she'd been told--no, she wouldn't think about that right now. It didn't matter. Step one, get used to the castle she'd be staying in. The third place she'd been dragged to without a choice. Running theme, lately.
She took another breath and continued her walk, occasionally stopping to pull (with exertion) heavy doors open and peek inside. Large hallways that led to large hallways. A lavish bathroom, once. No kitchen or any other recognizable necessities yet. Was there a laundry room? The bathroom had appeared to have plumbing - maybe the rest of the place would too.
Another large set of double doors. Yui wrapped her fingers around the cold doorknob and pulled with both hands. Yep. Another heavy door, but she got it open and peered inside to see...
...bookshelves? Thousands of bookshelves! Too many for one library! Yes, this castle was large, she understood that from wandering as much as she had, but to have one room this...big? What on Earth? Her eyes caught sight of a few very invitingly cushioned loveseats around a table and squeezed through the doorway to cross the dimly lit county of books. She'd been walking a long time; it wouldn't hurt to rest a bit.
And maybe...if any of them were here, she'd find them before they found her and thought she'd run away.
She shivered and hugged her arms to her chest, running her hands up and down the pink sleeves. It'd be...all right. Or something like it, anyway.
